About the Blog
Welcome to our classroom blog! My name is Mrs. Sotomayor and I am a first grade teacher just outside of Phoenix, Arizona. I have been a blogger for five years, and I am excited to begin my very first classroom blog! I have gained a tremendous amount of inspiration from classroom and teaching blogs, and it is my hope that this blog will not only be a place for families and students to connect with what is happening in our classroom, but also a source for ideas and inspirations for other teachers out there in the blogging world. For those who are familiar with teaching blogs, they are often geared mainly towards other teachers as a means of sharing ideas and selling original products. While I do get many of my classroom ideas and materials from those blogs (thank you to all the super creative and crafty teachers out there, and I will give credit where credit is due), I do not sell my own products. This is mostly because I don't have the time to create products and sell them with a very active little boy at home that keeps me plenty busy when I am not in the classroom! I also feel that there is no reason to reinvent the wheel when there are so many fantastic ideas and products out there already. I intend for this blog to be focused on what's happening in our classroom, and it is my hope and goal that eventually the students of room 202 will be able to contribute to this blog and discover the joys of writing. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy getting a peek inside of our classroom!
