About Mrs.S

Welcome to the blog for room 202! My name is Ashley, and most of the time my students call me Mrs. S. I am originally from southern Indiana, and I have lived in the west valley of Phoenix for the past six years. I love sunshine and hate snow, which is partly what brought me here to Arizona. My husband and I have a two year old son named Luca, and he is a ball of energy! We also have a goofy golden retriever named Tevez...also a ball of energy. The two of them keep us on our toes all the time. This will be my eighth year of teaching, and my second year teaching first grade. I have also taught kindergarten for four years, fifth grade for one year, and gifted and talented for one year. I have a master's degree in teaching English as a second language, and a bachelor's degree in elementary education. I am bilingual in English and Spanish.When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, hiking, shopping, reading, traveling, creating things, and blogging.
